use a medium golden brown hair dye in semi permanant 2 make sure its what u wanna do or go 2 ur hair dressers and get it done professionaly xx

My hair is naturally mid brown and i dyed it red for a show i was in (not realizing it was perminant) and want it out :(

If it is permanant, there is no way to get it out until it grows out or fades. You could also go to a salon and they can fix it to what color that you want it to be, but they will probably have a hard time if you used a box color. Next time look at the label before you dye!!

I dont know if it strips your hair (then you would have to dye it another color) or if it just takes out the dye. All i know is you should check it out.

Hey K, Yes U Can! some of the tricks are: mix some conditioner with water and work it through ur hair esp. on the ends--protects hair and help with evn saturation of color. Spritz w/ water also. Buy several shades that u think might like and do test strands. check timing freq. U can even alternate them by leaving it on longer at the back or slicing in different color but keep it simple. Don't stress ur self out. trying to weave with temp colors is a major pain--becuz of timing, so just do large pieces or blocks. If u have too much orange tone get a get an ash base and mix in a little light brown ie; a capful. If have basically stripped ur hair then alternate med. blonde and light blonde in chunks using a reg. color product but use only 10% peroxide, test strand and WATCH the time--the longer u leave it on the darker it gets %26amp; sometimes it happens real quick usu. w/in the first ten minutes. Sally's sells 10% or u can make by cutting 20%in half w/purified water. Apply to roots first, then middle, and finally ther ends. Porosity is much worse on the endz. If you want a natural look go for a colour that is no more than 2 shades darker or lighter than your own, also I am a big fan of semi permenant colours as they leave your hair glossy and conditioned and if you don't like the result they wash out in a few shampoos.

Genetically we're designed with color 'palates' and messing with the balance, well, it messes with the color balance. Everytime you deal with the root grow out issue the color changes again! in the summer putting peroxide in your hair and laying out in the sun lightens your hair.............It works! Or there are products on the market called sun-in its in a spray bottle and is inexpensive that ya spray in your hair after you shampoo and the heat from the blow dryer helps lighten it too! i use both products and both have worked! in the summer putting peroxide in your hair and laying out in the sun lightens your hair.............It works! Or there are products on the market called sun-in its in a spray bottle and is inexpensive that ya spray in your hair after you shampoo and the heat from the blow dryer helps lighten it too! i use both products and both have worked! Put a some baking soda in a bottle with shampoo - when you shower you will see dye washing out.
it definitely works - i once died my hair super bright red in high school and it wasnt allowed so i had to wash some of it out.
oh and remember to condition well, baking soda is a strong cleaner, and will strip your hair of natural oils, so condition condition condition!

Well, I had bleached highlights for ages. Decided to get more of my natural shade which is sort of darkish blonde, ashy. Went to hairdressers and they put a semi-permanent colour,called dark blonde which looks way too dark for me! The colour is sort of with warm tones in it, which she said had to be put in before any ashy can go on.
I don't want it to be so dark. How long do you think it'll last and how soon will I be able to put ashy colour in? Will I be able to get light blonde?

My sister's a hairdresser so I know a little about colour. Because your hair had been highlighted previously, any semi-permanent colour put on afterwards will have more of a permanent effect.
The reason for this is that bleaching (lightening/highlighting) dries your hair out and makes it porous. When you add another colour each hair absorbs the colour further into its core than it should do meaning even semi-permanents are more permanent.
You could have your hair lightened again but bleaching it further where it has already been bleached is likely to damage it and cause snapping.
If you can afford it, your best bet would be to seek out an Aveda salon for your next colour. They use plant-based products and although they still might have to bleach it slightly to lighten it, they'll probably be able to do so more gently than a normal hairdressers.How long will semi permanent hair colour last?

Try adding highlights and lowlights. It'll add depth and fun to your hair. It'll also help you decide if you want to go all lighter or darker without commiting to such a drastic change.
Also, if you wear make up, changing the colours you use might help make the change you are looking for. Maybe something more natural if you go for bright or pastel colours ore vice versa.
No matter what, have fun with it. You can always change it later.

If you are still not sure, try some gentle wash in/wash out colours to see which you like - of course they are never the same as semi or permanent colours but it might help. - If all else fails - book a consultation at a hairdressers - you don't have to go through with the colour - Any good hairdresser will offer a free consultation session without obligation. I know lots of blondes that are far more intelligent that the majority of people. I know brunettes that are the most lively people I've ever met. Red heads are usually said to be easily angered. I'm not sure about people with black hair but I'm sure people will have tagged them with a label of some sort aswell. Labeling people by there hair colour is just a whole lot of rubbish. Its like going out and dying your hair a different colour than your natural colour, your sill the same person with different personalities and feelings than other people of the same colour of hair. So how can you possibly be labeled by the colour of you hair? humans are individuals so why do people like do put us into groups!

It's stupid. People are just trying to find more ways to put people into specific categories. They want themselves to think that they're better than everyone. It's weird.
Nowadays, sadly pretty much everything has a label on them. You get discriminated for being different and its not right. I know lots of blondes that are far more intelligent that the majority of people. I know brunettes that are the most lively people I've ever met. Red heads are usually said to be easily angered. I'm not sure about people with black hair but I'm sure people will have tagged them with a label of some sort aswell. Labeling people by there hair colour is just a whole lot of rubbish. Its like going out and dying your hair a different colour than your natural colour, your sill the same person with different personalities and feelings than other people of the same colour of hair. So how can you possibly be labeled by the colour of you hair? humans are individuals so why do people like do put us into groups!

I want to dye my sisters hair one or two shades darker using professional hair colour but i dont know what kind of developer to use. When you are depositing color, 10 volume developer will always work (assuming you are not dealing with gray-coverage). This is preferable since it does the least amount of damage (the % relates to the amount of hydrogen peroxide in the developer). Oh, depositing means going darker FYI. Just to clarify, color will not lift color so if you were going lighter using color you would have to do it on virgin hair. And it will only lift up to 2 levels that way. A highlift works like you were saying, where you use 30 vol for 3 levels of lift. Bleach is a whole other ball game, so I'll leave that one alone for now.
As far a developer brand, they always recommend staying with the same brand as the color, but it's not necessary. One of my current jobs is at a professional beauty store. So you can believe me when I say that you can use whatever brand developer you want. The only thing to keep in mind is the type of color you are using. If you are using permanent color, then you can pick up any 10 vol developer. BUT if you are using a demi-permanent color you'll want to stick to the developer made specifically for that color line. Demi colors usually use a custom volume developer that is somewhere between 5-10%, but it won't specify on the bottle.
If you have any questions at all, please email me! I have helped many people fix bad colors because they simply didn't know some of the basic concepts with the chemistry of hair color. You are doing one of the easiest types of hair color tho, so I think I it's very likely that it will turn out nicely even if you make a few mistakes.

If you are blonde naturally or a bottle blonde you will get a lot of male attention but other women will treat you with some contempt. Im a natural brunette and noticed that when i went blonde men loved it and women hated me for it! Blonde hair is associated with glamour and money aswell. Then there's the dumb blonde jokes, whats so interesting about this is that there was a study done recently to show that mens intelligence seems to lower momentarily after been shown a picture of a blonde, in this study the brunette pictures were not shown to have this effect!

Another study that I looked at showed that women were way more likely to tell a personal secret of theirs to a brunette over any of the other hair colours. Brunettes can be seen as boring and lacking in rarity cause their is so many of us around.

Cant think of any downside except if you have pale skin and people think you look ill!

My advice is to get it shoulder length, all one colour, and bangs, so you could leave then down, or put them back with a headband or clips. Get some layers as well, all around, not just in the front making them curve in.

It's Manic Panic dye if you have dark hair you need to bleach your hair first if you don't it will just leave a tint. If you live in tennessee go to the Pink Mullet in Franklin.

Well in the newspaper I saw Peaches Geldof with a similar colour to Cheryl's, probably nicer because it had a hint more violet. She said she dyed it herself using Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL in Mystic Violet. There is also another colour which is slightly more reddy colour called Cyber Purple. The dye only costs 拢4.69. If you are from the states I'm sure you can buy it there too.

Get your shampoo and conditioner for color safe hair. All your styling products should be color safe too.
I'm blonde and had a similar experience with dying my hair a dark red/burgundy color. It faded so much within a few day that parts of it looked fuchsia. You may have to dye your hair again to get it covered good. That's what I had to do and it corrected the mistake. I used the Feria dye. It's fine to dye it again, as long as you're not bleaching. =] Then you'll eventually get it built up over the next couple months.

to get the reddish purple to its most vibrant you dont need to bleach your hair until its white, a orangy yellow will do. i suggest going to Sally's and getting a big bottle of 30% vol peroxide and a big pack of bleach, cost me like 拢7 and it lasts to about 50 applications or even more. so if you run out of bleach you can always mix up another batch and you will be able to use it if you want to bleach your hair in the future. it will be much easier, cheaper, more practical and safer than using the individual packs. good luck!How many times will i need to bleach my hair if my natural hair colour is black?
i'm thinking about 3. use 40 volume the first time, mix 30 and 40 evenly the second time and use 30 the third time. after the second bleaching, you will really notice that your roots will be a lighter yellow than the lengths of your hair. this is from the heat of your scalp making the bleach work faster. so for the third time, don't apply bleach to your roots again, it will cause them to turn white and result in an uneven blonde color. it should make your hair a really light yellow, which is the perfect color for toning after. toner is a mild, permanent dye that is meant to be used on hair that has just been bleached to achieve a more natural, true blonde and not so fakey yellow. go to sally beauty to get all your bleach and while you're there, get some wella color charm toner, it's the best i've ever used. it comes in 2 ounces and requires 4 ounces of 20 volume peroxide so you will also need to get a small bottle of 20, reusable gloves that you can also use when you bleach and an applicator bottle to hold the toner. apply it to your hair immediatley after you shampoo out the last wave of bleach, while your hair is damp and leave it on for 30 minutes and it will give you a nice, light natural blonde color with no further damage. while you're at sally's, look for the ardell color/bleach additives. you add them to bleach and dyes and they prevent hair from turning too orange/yellow/gold during the bleaching process and remove existing brassy tones in hair when added to toner or dye. look for the unred, red gold corrector plus and lock-in blonde. add unred and red gold to your bleach every time you bleach and add all 3 to your toner. unred and lock-in blonde require 10 drops per every ounce of peroxide used and red gold requires 15 for every ounce.

Where can I get my hair colour stripped?
I live in the Croydon area so near there would be great. I have been into several salons that Im sure could do it but they do not do afro hair.

If there anyway to get hair colour out of fabric?
Lastnight, my mom coloured my hair for me using a boxed colour. I just noticed today that there was a big glob of it on the shower curtain that she got after my Meme passed away (her mom). I would like to try to get it out for her so she doesn't flip out. I'm sure she will not place the blame on me (cuz she was the one who got it on there accidently and didn't notice) but I still want to get it out for her.

its ALL about where we came from....Yes most people here are calling it genetics and it is.....but our colouring is about WHERE WE CAME FROM!!!
in warmer climates, such as in Africa, humans had to adapt to the constant damaging sun and UV rays. Darker skin/ eyes/ hair helped prevent to much damaged.
in colder climates, such as England, humans had to adapt to very cold climates. The lost their need for the UV protection and other things began to change. Have you even noticed how European noses are longer than African noses? This is because the long shape of the nose somehow heats up the hair before it hits the lungs.
Maybe European skin is lighter for camouflage in the snow?? Little differences are to adapt to the environment so this is a possibility.
Why are blonds less common? Well despite their being many cold climates Holland (and other close-by countries) where the main producers of blonde children. How many people descend from those areas now you think about it? Also the blonde gene is recessive so maybe that kid with the dark brown hair may end up having blonde kids. He has the blonde gene though it can't show because of the dominant brown one.
Just remember. Genetics are about adaption.

How can I make my hair colour more Vibrant?
I Dyed my hair last week, I used Xxl Red passion. Its went a dark red and quite red in some places, but how can I Make my hair colour just go a bit more vibrant/bright/noticable?
Oh and would getting a hair cut, show the brighter red better, ?

My hair is naturally blonde. I tried to dye it blonde again, no luck. I do not want to damage my hair any further, so my only question is, how long does it take? Your hair grows approx 1/2 inch a month. If you hate it go to a professional hairstylist that is experienced in color correction and see what they can do, but it will damage your hair no matter what. You may want to try to just do some highlights to disguise the difference and just go often for more hightlights so you can become more and more blonde. If you try and bleach your hair out yourself, you are only asking for more trouble, I am a hairstylist and I make a lot of money off of home hair coloring/bleaching mishaps.
Also, to let you know, don't attempt to color the ends with something close to your natural color, it won't work. A lighter hair dye cannot lighten up the dark. It needs to be stripped out either with color remover, or bleach.
I don't know how long you have been coloring your hair the darker color, but if it was only one time, you can try washing it with Dawn dishwashing soap or Prell shampoo. But be prepared for some pretty dry hair. It won't take the color out but it might lighten it up a little.
