How can you get dyed hair colour to lighten faster?

i got my hair dyed a reddish color today, she dyed it darker claiming it would lighten with in a few weeks. i wanted ashlee simpson red (to give you an example) and i got a light brown with a reddish tint. she said it would fade/lighten. is there a remedy to speed the process up?

if you wash it more it will, it lightens up when all the dye is washed out, you would normally find after washing it the first couple of times it would leak a bit still, so wash it a bit more than usual and it should do :)How can you get dyed hair colour to lighten faster?
Do a shampoo cap with Prell shampoo. Lather it and leave it on for about 5 minutes then rinse. This will lighten it up.
