When I bleach my hair, it turns yellow. When I put some ash shade, it turns gray. What should I do to make it really white, like I've seen on some women? I would appreciate answers from professional hairdressers and/or people who have personal experience with their own hair. Thanks! What hair colour should I use after bleaching, if I want my hair to be completely white - not yellow or gray?
Yes, the Artec Blondes White Violet shampoo and conditioner would be great for keeping the yellow out of your hair after you've had the service done. If you smoke, or are around smokers or live in a heavily polluted city, that can yellow your hair and this product would help tremendously. But you wouldn't want to use it everyday, as your hair can start to take on a violet hue. So I'd alternate it with another professional shampoo/conditioner.
If after you bleach the hair is yellow, it is because you do need a toner. Toner puts a pigment back into the hair that the bleach has removed. But for platinum, you have to be bleached up to a pale yellow (like the inside of a banana) and then a toner used that has a violet base. BUT depending on the porosity of the shaft and ends of your hair will determine how much deposit you get from the toner. If your porous then those ends can grab whatever base the toner is. If you had the service done at a salon, they would know to dilute the toner for the ends, or would use the right technique for your situation. The problem is that every color line can be a little bit different. I would prefer to tone with a demi-permanent color, but there are some lines out there that are strickily toners that do a beautiful job as well. Unfortunately, I can't recommend anything other than professional color that hairdressers have access to, because that is the only color I work with day in and day out.
Good luck! What hair colour should I use after bleaching, if I want my hair to be completely white - not yellow or gray?
The Answer is: Silver Lights Shampoo.
After a week, your hair will be white.
That's my secret trick! Everyone thinks its in the colouring!

You really need to go to a professional when you are bleaching your hair..bleach you use at home is low grade stuff..plus if you don't know what you are doing you will ruin your hair..that's why your not getting the color you want..go professional all the way
It all depends on what level you want. If you are super light blonde, and want white, you'll want to use something with a bit of ash or violet in it to cut out the gold tones your hair will naturally show. I've had a lot of good experience with Wella Blondor powder and mixed with 30 or 40 vol, I hadn't needed to tone it. it came out white. Talk to your stylist, It's really the only good way.
Well, if you want it to be like Gwen Stephanis then you need to get this shampoo called Artec, you can get it at http://www.stuff4beauty.com/page/artec_c鈥?/a>
It takes the brassey tones out. I use this and it is great. Basically it is a shampoo with toner in it! It is about $15.00.
Good luck!
If you want white hair, this REALLY does work.
Bleach your hair, leave the orange/yellow tones in it.
Buy Manic Panic Virgin snow %26amp; apply it to your hair. It gets rid of the yellow tones and leaves your hair white. The product is also cheap.
After a couple of weeks, though, you'll have to re-apply it because It's semi permanent. I find the product at my pharmacy. But it works extremely well! %26amp; It doesn't damage your hair like bleaching it a million times.
But, If you're not up to buying the product, the only way is to just bleach it until It turns white. I've bleached my hair until It's turned white. It actually didn't damage my hair like I thought. Just condition, condition, condition.

Never use ash, it will always be grey or green. I would not try to give myself platinum hair, but thats just my opinion. Do it once and do it right, avoid damaging your hair. Go see a professional. Or call a salon if you want to give it a go.
