get a malibu treatment that u would get at a salon to clairfy and strip your hair... U said u want to to do this at home -- head to a wal-mart and buy any old clarifying shampoo... it wil do the trick! Or if u have a fantastic sams salon, or super cuts, near you -- you can go inside the store and ASK them for the shampoo and buy it there...
But #1 it will help get that weird color out, and #2 I would DEFINITELY suggest shampooing with a claifiying shampoo now that I know you do a lot of swimming.. It will help your hair a great deal! =) Good luck
