i believe blond hair is recessive, so only 2 blondes, or a blonde and heterozygous brunette can have a blonde child...

To possibly shed a little more light on the topic, hair color is determined by multiple genes, some of which are dominant and some are recessive (blond being one of them), but it isn't a matter of being really dominant or recessive. There is an aspect of codominance in which any alleles an individual has are expressed as proteins (this allows for red, brown, black, blonde colors because multiply alleles are expressed.





Why the hair color is what it is? The cells in the hair follicle produce different levels of melanin which causes the color. This protein expression is determined by the genes.
